Blacksmithing Guide
There's also a video that shows these steps: https://files.catbox.moe/1v85no.mp4
1. Crafting via Crafting Table
For simple items, crafting recipes are the same as Vanilla Minecraft or can be seen using the /recipes command. Most of the higher-end armors and weapons, however, require special blacksmithing processes.
2. Blacksmithing Profession
To begin blacksmithing, follow these steps:
- Obtain the Blacksmith Profession by using the /mp command and select the blacksmith profession
Construct a Bloomery:
- Stack two hard clay blocks on top of one another vertically.
- Right-click the top block with a hammer to create the bloomery.
Smelt Raw Iron:
- Add raw iron to the bloomery along with coal or charcoal as fuel.
- When the iron is heated, pull it out by right-clicking using tongs.
Forge the Bloom:
- Place the hot bloom on an anvil.
- Purify the bloom by striking it with a hammer.
Heat the Ingots:
- Ensure that fire is enabled in your plot by typing /plot toggle fire on.
- Ignite a fire with flint and steel.
- Throw the newly formed ingots into the fire to heat them further.
Shape the Item:
- Retrieve the heated ingots with tongs by right-clicking.
- While holding the tongs with the ingot, right-click the anvil to open the crafting GUI.
- Select the desired item to craft.
- Use a hammer to strike the highlighted points on the anvil (similar to playing a rhythm game).
Quench the Item:
- After shaping, use tongs to extract the shaped object.
- Submerge it in a cauldron of water to cool down and harden.
- Use a smithing table to finish and assemble your shaped object.
For blacksmithing recipes, use the in-game /recipes command.
3. Crucible Furnace (Upgraded Bloomery)
The Crucible Furnace is a more advanced version of the Bloomery, making metal processing and refining more efficient. Though the bloomery will work for early smelting, the Crucible Furnace will improve production and allow for the production of higher-level materials. There is a video tutorial on how to build and operate the Crucible Furnace here: https://files.catbox.moe/hj4c9i.mp4
4. Quenching (Weapon/Armor Upgrading)
In order to upgrade your weapons or armor:
- Ensure you have the necessary skill for the item you wish to quench.
- Fill a cauldron with water.
- Right-click the cauldron with the weapon or armor that you wish to upgrade.
- You can repeat this process multiple times for further upgrades.
By following these steps, you can master blacksmithing in Mvndicraft, crafting and upgrading a wide range of items to assist you on your quests.
